GS1 Digital Link Resolver CE

The GS1 Global Organization provides the GS1 Digital Link Resolver Community Edition on its GitHub account.

In addition to the above resolver, there are other, freely accessible, repositories on GS1 Global's GitHub account.

GS1 Digital Link Resolver Community Edition is available under the Apache License 2.0. In short, this means that anyone can download it and use it for their own purposes, provided that the creators of the code and the maintainer of the repository make no warranties and are not responsible for the way the digital product will be used or for any errors in the product.

The resolver page above contains its files, description, documentation, version history, and basic implementation instructions.

In the examples on this page we have used a test version of the GS1 Digital Link CE resolver, which is available for internal and presentation use by GS1 organisations.

Advantages
  • A 'ready-made' solution.
  • Resolver fully supports all functions defined in the GS1 Digital Link standard.
  • Resolver is GS1-conformant.
Disadvantages
  • Resolver has well-defined prerequisites that must be used in its deployment.
  • The security audit of the software solution revealed a number of serious deficiencies that need to be addressed before implementation.
  • Further development of the resolver depends on the GitHub community. Implementing additional custom features would have to be done on a separate branch or copy.
  • Due to the fact that it is a solution with full support of all functions of the GS1 Digital Link standard, with defined prerequisites and requirements for the technologies used, it may be too complex and complicated for someone to use only a certain part of the solution.
